ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE@#To observe the clinical effect of acupuncture for glaucoma-induced optic atrophy.@*METHODS@#A total of 70 patients (89 affected eyes) with glaucoma-induced optic atrophy were randomized into an observation group and a control group, 35 cases in each group. The control group was given basic western medicine treatment. In the observation group, on the basis of the treatment in the control group, acupuncture was applied at main acupoints i.e. Baihui (GV 20), Shangjingming (Extra), Chengqi (ST 1), Fengchi (GB 20), Zusanli (ST 36), combined with supplementary acupoints based on syndrome differentiation, once every three days, twice a week. The treatment for 3 months was required in both groups. Before treatment, after treatment and in follow-up of 6 months after treatment, the best corrected visual acuity (BCVA), intraocular pressure (IOP), indexes of visual field (visual field index [VFI], mean deviation [MD], pattern standard deviation [PSD]) and mean thickness of retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) were observed in the two groups.@*RESULTS@#Compared before treatment, BCVA was decreased after treatment and in follow-up in the control group (P<0.05); in the follow-up, BCVA in the observation group was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). On each time point before and after treatment, there was no significant difference within or between the two groups (P>0.05). After treatment and in the follow-up, the mean thickness of RNFL was larger than the control group (P<0.05).@*CONCLUSION@#On the basis of the basic western medicine treatment, acupuncture can delay the decline of vision and the thinning of retinal nerve fiber layer in patients with glaucoma-induced optic atrophy.

ABSTRACT

Laparoscopic surgery has been accepted as an optimal treatment for colon cancer. Digestive tract reconstruction may be performed using extracorporeal anastomosis or intracor-poreal anastomosis after radical colectomy of colon cancer. More and more studies have compared both procedures, but the selection of optimal method of digestive tract reconstruction is still controversial. The authors conduct a systematic review on the application and research advances of intracorporeal anastomosis in laparoscopic surgery for colon cancer, investigate the technical skills of intracorporeal anastomosis and its clinical outcomes, so as to provide valid information for its clinical application.

ABSTRACT

The mortality of female breast cancer in Shandong Province has increased since the 1970. The differential decomposition analysis found that the slight decline in the crude mortality of breast cancer among women was entirely due to non-demographic factors during the 1970-1990, and the significant increase in the crude mortality was due to a combination of demographic and non-demographic factors since the 1990. The contribution rate of demographic factor has gradually increased from 53.5% in 2004-2005 to 59.5% in 2011-2013, while that of non-demographic factor has decreased from 46.5% to 40.5%. The women aged 45-64 years old were the major population of female breast cancer deaths, accounting for 40%-60% of total breast cancer deaths in different times, and then the mortality in female aged 55-64 years old increased rapidly, with increases of 52.12%, 115.19% and 29.01% in 2011-2013 over the 1970-1974, 1990-1992 and 2004-2005, respectively (Z=-7.342,P<0.001). Compared with 1970-1974, the age-standardized mortality rate of rural women increased by 41.86% in 2011-2013 (Z=-17.933, P<0.001), and that of urban women increased by 18.62% in 2011-2013 (Z=-25.642, P<0.001). The age-standardized mortality rate of breast cancer in urban women was higher than that in rural women in different times (all P<0.05). The spatial scan analysis found that eastern Shandong Province was found to be a sustained high-risk area for death, and other high-risk areas were transferred from north to southwest of Shandong between 1970 and 2013.

ABSTRACT

Anemoside B4 (B4), a main triterpenoid saponin from a traditional Chinese medicine plant, Pulsatilla chinensis, is a novel anti-inflammatory agent for protection from acute lung injury. We investigated the pulmonary availability and anti-inflammatory efficacy of B4 after intratracheal and intravenous dosing with a view to evaluating the suitability of inhalation delivery. All animal studies were performed under the guidelines approved by the Animal Care and Use Committee of Institute of Medicinal Plant Development, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences (Approval No: SLXD-20181113046). In vitro evaluation of the aerodynamic characteristics and droplet size distribution showed that the aerosols generated by a commercially available nebulizer were well deposited in the respiratory tract. Following intratracheal administration, B4 underwent pulmonary absorption into the bloodstream, rendering an absolute bioavailability of 103%. Compared to intravenous delivery, intratracheal administration dramatically increased the drug availability in lung tissue of rats by more than 1 000-fold, leading to improved and prolonged concentrations of B4 in lung tissue up to 48 h. In addition, the intratracheal administration of B4 resulted in dose-dependent and prolonged anti-inflammatory efficacy in a lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced lung injury model in mice. The present results demonstrate that inhalation delivery of B4 is a promising approach to treat pulmonary inflammation with once-daily dosing.

At present, the prevention and control situation of epidemics of Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is still serious, medical institutions should provide quality and safe routine medical services while doing their best in the prevention and control of this disease. The purpose of this article is to suggest a way to give quality and safe medical services to patients who need surgical treatment, especially to those who need emergency surgical treatment, with strict classified managements and standard precaution during perioperative period. With those suggestions, we may reduce the incidence of nosocomial infection and contribute to the prevention and control of COVID-19.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE@#To explore aerobic power and energy expenditure of high level rugby players in China, which provide experimental basis for accurate training and nutritional strategy in match-play.@*METHODS@#Eighteen master rugby players were selected as research subjects. The parameters such as VOmax, lactic aicd threshold (LT) and modify conconi test were measured respectively. The differences of energy were compared between the forward and the defender. The data were analyzed by independent sample t test.@*RESULTS@#The VOmax(42.05±3.69 ml/min ·kg) of rugby players was poorer. The VOmax of the forward was 38.83±3.52 (ml/min ·kg), and that of the defender was 47.31±3.17 (ml/min ·kg),and there was significant difference between the forwards and the defenders (P<0.05). The LT of the defenders was obviously higher than that of the forwards. Modifier conconi test had a high correlation (r = 0.772) with VOmax. The average energy consumption in the first half of the game was about(276.94±18.08)kcals, the second half was(225.58±22.86)kcals, and the second half was less than the first half (P<0.05).@*CONCLUSION@#The aerobic power is different between the forwards and the defenders. The power of aerobic of Chinese players is weaker than that of the foreign rugby players.

ABSTRACT

Objective To understand the sources and characteristics of newly reported HIV/AIDS cases in Yiwu,Zhejiang province,from 2015 to 2016.Methods From January 1,2015 to December 31,2016,newly reported HIV/AIDS cases in Yiwu were recruited in the study and they were asked to complete an in-depth field epidemiology questionnaire.Information related to their previous sexual behaviors and infection sources or routes were collected in the survey.The data were processed and analyzed with EpiData 3.0 and SPSS 19.0 software.Results A total of 320 participants from 393 newly reported HIV/AIDS cases in Yiwu during this period were surveyed and recruited in the study.Most of them were males (268,83.8%),unmarried (141,44.1%),aged between 25-44 years (166,51.9%),had census register in other provinces (217,67.8%) and educational level of junior high school (128,40.0%).Among 305 cases whose infection times could be determined,107 (35.1%) were newly infected within one year,and among 267 cases whose infection location could be determined,200 (74.9%) were infected in Yiwu.New infections were mainly detected in those who had homosexual behaviors or causal sex partners (during the past year) and through active detection approach.Local infections were mainly among those who had local residence and commercial heterosexual behavior in Yiwu.Conclusions Most newly reported HIV/AIDS cases in Yiwu from 2015-2016 were infected for more than one year and locally infected.Census registration of other provinces,homosexual sexual behavior,and casual sexual behavior give major contribution to HIV/AIDS epidemic in Yiwu.

ABSTRACT

Objective@#By comparing the clinical characteristics of patulous Eustachian tube with habitual nasal extraction and those of non-Eustachian tube abnormalities, we aimed to investigate the relationship between patulous Eustachian tube and acquired cholesteatoma of middle ear.@*Methods@#A total of 218 patients in Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao University from November 2011 to November 2016 who underwent surgical treatment and with complete data of acquired cholesteatoma of middle ear were enrolled. The patients were divided into two groups: patulous Eustachian tube with habitual nasal extraction and non-Patulous Eustachian tube. Their ages of onset , sides, characteristics of acoustic immitance, clinical manifestations, prognosis and complications were compared. The statistical analysis was carried out with SPSS 19.0 software.@*Results@#Among the 218 cases of acquired cholesteatoma of the middle ear, 22 cases were diagnosed as patulous Eustachian tube with habitual nasal extraction [with average age of (35.7±7.5) years]; 196 cases were diagnosed as non-patulous Eustachian tube [with average age of (47.8±20.1) years]. The average age of the patulous Eustachian tube with habitual nasal extraction was significantly lower than that of the non-patulous Eustachian tube group (t=4.25, P<0.01). Ratio of bilateral middle ear cholesteatoma in patulous Eustachian tube [68.2%(15/22)] was significantly higher than that of the non-patulous Eustachian tube group [18.9%(37/196)] (χ2=26.47, P<0.01).@*Conclusions@#Some acquired cholesteatoma patients are associated with the patulous Eustachian tube with habitual nasal extraction. The patients have a lower age, and are susceptible for bilateral middle ear cholesteatoma.

ABSTRACT

Objective To evaluate the application value of ultrasound-guided steel needle cross projection in percutaneous nephroscopy localization for clinical treatment. Methods From July 2015 to July 2017, we selected 307 cases of percutaneous nephrolithotomy with ultrasonic stereoscopic precision positioning, stones are antipyroid stones, renal calculi multiple kidney stones, ESWL treatment failure, isolated kidney stones, renal pelvis and ureteral junction (UPJ) obstruction with stones, open stone surgery recurrence, upper ureteral stones and so on. Refer to preoperative CT and KUB+IVP to determine the puncture angle and the puncture of the calyx. Then, in the ultrasonic stereo precise positioning to select the first mark line and the second mark line, two-line intersection for the final puncture point, this point with the first mark point connection with the vertical axis of the kidney.Finally, at the end of the puncture point in the ultrasonic stereo precise probe under the guidance of the probe to adjust the target angle of the calyx puncture. Results Of the 307 patients, 281 were 1 ~ 2 successful punctures, 21 were 3 ~ 5 times. The total success rate was 98.4% (302/307). 5 cases of small incision were separated to the kidney weeks under the guidance of the fingers.1 case of bleeding after 2 days (by selective renal artery embolization to stop bleeding).The net rate of calculi was 95.8% (294/307) and 13 residual stones were less than 0.5 cm. Conclusions The application of ultrasonic stereoscopic accurate positioning in percutaneous nephroscopy is safe and effective, and the localization method is refined and easy to be promoted.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury directly impacts the individual's lower limb function. It is very important for althelets whether rehabilitation training after ACL reconstruction is reasonable, effective and can restore the normal function of the knee joint.OBJECTIVE: To explore the effect of rehabilitation training on graft healing and knee joint function recovery after ACL reconstruction. METHODS: An elite rugby player was enrolled and subjected to phased rehabilitation training after ACL reconstruction. MRI examination was done before and after rehabilitation training. Then, the following indicators were tested, including joint flexion of knee, leg circumference degrees, isokinetic muscle strength of the lower limb, feedback test, the test of YBT, the Balance Error Scoring System, feedforward test, static balance test on one foot, dynamic balance test on the feet, Lysholm knee score, anaerobic work of the upper extremity, torso strength, to analyze the graft healing, body shape, the knee joint function and physical quality improvement after ACL reconstruction. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: After 10 months of phased rehabilitation training, the graft healed well; the knee flexion degree was back to normal; knee joint swelling basically eliminated; the muscle strength of the extensor flexor of the knee joint was back to over 95% of the normal level; the function of the injured knee joint was good and returned to a higher level; the Lysholm knee score was 85 points; the anaerobic work of the upper limbs and trunk strength reached to 120% of the normal level; and the quality of the body was greatly improved. To conclude, a great improvement in graft healing, knee joint function, recovery of muscle strength and physical qualities has been achieved in athletes who receive rehabilitation training after ACL reconstruction.

ABSTRACT

Objective To understand the characteristics of distribution on HIV-1 subtypes and the transmission clusters in Yiwu in Zhejiang province.Methods A cross-sectional study of molecular epidemiology was carried out on newly reported H1V/AIDS cases in Yiwu.RNA was extracted from 168 plasma samples,followed by RT-PCR and nest-PCR for pol gene amplification,sequencing,phylogenetic tree construction used for analyzing the subtypes and transmission clusters.Mutations on drug resistance was analyzed by CPR 6.0 online tool.Results Subjects were mainly males (86.3%,145/168),with average age as (39.1 ± 13.4) years old and most of them were migrants (66.7%,112/168).The major routes of transmission included homosexual (51.2%,86/168) and heterosexual (48.8%,82/168) contacts.The rate of success for sequence acquisition was 89.9% (151/168).The dominant subtypes showed as CRF01_AE (74,49.0%) and CRF07_BC (64,42.4%),followed by CRF08_BC (5,3.3%),CRF55_01B (3,2.0%),each case of subtype B,CRF45_cpx,CRF59_01B,CRF85_BC and URF (B/C).CRF45_cpx and CRF85_BC were discovered the first time in Zhejiang province.Twenty-six transmission clusters involving 65 cases were found,with the total clustered rate as 43.0% (65/151),in which the CRF01_AE clustered rate appeared as 54.1% (40/74),higher than that of CRF07_BC (21/64,32.8%).The average size of cluster was 2.5 cases/cluster,with average size of cluster in CRF01_AE patients infected through heterosexual transmission as the largest (3.5 cases/cluster).The prevalence of transmitted drug resistance was 4.6% (7/151).Seven cases with surveillance drug resistant mutations (SDRM) were found,including 5 cases of M46L (3.3%),and one case of F77L or Y181C.Conclusion HIV genetic diversity and a variety of transmission clusters had been noticed in this study area (Yiwu).Programs on monitoring the subtypes and transmission clusters should be continued and strengthened.

BACKGROUND:Various methods are involved in the treatment of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS),and functional rehabilitation training can provide support for clinical rehabilitation.OBJECTIVE:To explore the ipositive effects of exercise on the weak links of spinal mechanical disturbance,and to fully improve AIS through sport rehabilitation.METHODS:Nineteen AIS patients were randomly divided into experimental (n=10) and control (n=9) groups,followed by given manual reduction combined with functional rehabilitation training,or manual reduction combined with conventional strength training.The shape of the spine was acquired under different postures using X-ray and Spinalmouse.The spinal lateral flexion strength was assessed by Back-Check tester.The range of motion of the waist was measured by joint angle measurement apparatus.The patients' subjective feeling was measured through Scoliosis Research Society-22 questionnaire.All data underwent t-test.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:After 32-week intervention,the Cobb angle and distance of top cone deviating from the midline of sacrum had significant difference between experimental and control groups (F < 0.05).The experimental group patients had the sagittal spinal joint angle that was closer to the physiological curve.There was a significant difference in the muscle strength between experimental and control groups (P < 0.05).The range of motion of the waist under anteflexion,as well as posterior extension and right lateroflexion showed significant difference between experimental and control groups (P <0.01,P < 0.05).The Scoliosis Research Society-22 Questionnaire scores in the experimental group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P < 0.05).These results indicate that functional rehabilitation training can improve the control ability of deep muscle groups and muscle strength and endurance.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the clinical value of serum glycyl-proline dipeptidyl aminopeptidase(GPDA)combined with carcino-embryonic antigen (CEA),carbohydrate antigen724 (CA724),carbohydrate antigen242 (CA242) in the early diagnosis of gastric cancer.Methods Collected in Changan hospital in patients with gastric cancer and atrophic gastritis patients and healthy subjects 60 cases,by TBA-120FR biochemical analyzer glycyl-proline dipeptidyl aminopeptidase (GPDA),chemiluminescence analyzer to detect the levels of serum CEA,CA724 and CA242,analysis of single detection and joint detection and the differences between the positive rate and sensitivity.Results The detection of GPDA in gastric cancer group was significantly lower than that in atrophic gastritis group and healthy control group,the difference was statistically significant (F=69.532,P=0.000).The results of CEA,CA724 and CA242 in gastric cancer group were higher than those in atrophic gastritis group and healthy control group,the difference was statistically significant (CEA:F=59.926,P=0.001;CA724:F=51.056,P =0.001;CA242:F =72.613,P =0.000).Serum GPDA,CEA,CA724 and CA242 single detection positive rate were 70 %,45 %,61.7 % and 50 %.Tumor markers CEA,CA724,CA242 positive rate of three joint detection was 75%.Serum GPDA and tumor markers of CEA,the positive rate of CA724 and CA242 combined detection of four was 86.7%.The positive rate of three and higher than that of single detection,the difference was statistically significant (F=49.635,P=0.003).Serum GPDA,CEA,CA724 and CA242 single detection sensitivity was 70.2 %,50.2 %,67.3 % and 53.2%.Tumor markers CEA,CA724,CA242 three joint detection sensitivity was 85.6%.Serum GPDA and tumor markers CEA,CA724 and CA242 four joint detection sensitivity was 90.3%.The sensitivity was higher than the three items and the individual tests,and the difference was statistically significant (F=52.016,P =0.001).Conclusion GPDA joint CEA,CA724 and CA242 tumor markers detection can improve the positive rate and sensitivity in early diagnosis of gastric cancer,but it will not reduce the diagnostic specificity,the clinical diagnosis of early gastric cancer has important significance and value.

Objective To explore the effect of an electromagnetic field (EMF) on the viability,proliferation and osteogenic differentiation of rats' bone mesenchymal stem cells (rBMSC).Methods Sinusoidal 1mT EMFs of 10 Hz,30 Hz,50 Hz and 70 Hz were administered to rBMSC for 2 hours per day during 2 weeks of cultivation.The cell viability was analyzed using live/dead assays.The cells' DNA was quantified to evaluate cell proliferation.Von Kossa staining was performed to study the mineralization of the extracellular matrix.The enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and immunohistological staining were employed to observe the synthesis of osteocalcin (OC) and bone morphogenetic protein-2 (BMP-2).Results Cell viability decreased under exposure to the 50 Hz and 70 Hz fields.The proliferation of rBMSC was elevated significantly in the 10 Hz EMF-treated group.The expression OC and BMP-2 was elevated after two weeks of 50 Hz EMF stimulation.Moreover,the mineralization of the extracellular matrix was found to be enhanced after 50 Hz EMF exposure.Conclusion Exposure to a 1 mT EMF has different effects on the viability,proliferation and osteogenic differentiation of rBMSC depending on the frequency.The data provide practical guidance for applying electromagnetic fields in bone regenerative medicine.

Background Plasticity of visual system is one of the mechanisms of deprivation amblyopia.Our previous study showed that synapsin plays a role during visual developmental plasticity,and conventional protein kinase C-γ (cPKC-γ) probably is one of upstream kinases of synapsin.However,whether or how the cPKC-γ plays its effects on visual developmental plasticity is below understood.Objective This study was to investigate the dynamic expression of cPKC-γ in visual cortex of normal mice and explore the effects of abnormal visual experience on cPKC-γ expression.Methods The bilateral visual cortex tissues were obtained from 36 clean C57BL/6 mice at postnatal (P) 7,14,21,28,35,42 days respectively and 6 mice for each for the researching of cPKC-γ dynamical expression in visual cortex over aging.Other 24 C57BL/6 mice were randomized into developmental phase group and adult phase group,12 for each group.The monocular deprived (MD) models were established by suturing the upper and inferior eyelides in P14 mice for 14 days in 6 mice in the developmental phase group and 6 healthy mice served as controls,and MD models were established in the same way in 6 P60 mice in the adult phase group,and the same aged mice (6 mice) were used as controls.The mice were sacrificed and bilateral visual cortexes were obtained.The expression of cPKC-γ protein in the visual cortex was quantitatively detected using Western blot assay.The study protocol was approved by Ethic Committee of Tongren Eye Hospital.The use and care of the experimental mice followed the ARVO Statement.Results The cPKC-γ protein was faintly expressed in visual cortex in normal P7 mice,with the related expressing level of (39.74± 11.22)% and (40.78± 10.37)% in the left and right cortex,respectively.The expressing level of cPKC-γ protein was gradually increased over aging,with the peak value of (138.68±15.73)% and (138.47±23.48)% in P21 mice.A significant difference was found in the expression of cPKC-γ protein in various ages of mice (Fage =57.174,P =0.000),and the expression of cPKC-γ protein was not significantly different between the left and right visual cortexses (Flateral =0.059,P =0.809).No significant differences were found in the expression of cPKC-γ protein on bilateral visual cortexes among the mice of the developmental phase group and adult phase group (Fage =1.798,P =0.159) or among the MD group and normal control group (Fgroup =0.104,P=0.749).Conclusions The dynamic expression of cPKC-γ in the visual cortex of normal mice presents a consistant tend with the aging and development of visual critical period.MD does not affect the expression of cPKC-γ protein in bilateral visual cortexes.Further researches should be performed in the activity of cPKC-γ protein in MD mice.

ABSTRACT

Objective To construct the prokaryotic expression vector of human procalcitonin(PCT) and obtain the highly purified recombinant PCT protein.Methods PCT primers were designed based on the sequence of PCT gene from NCBI,and PCT gene was amplified by PCR.Then,the recombinant vector PCT/pET-22b(+) was constructed and transferred into E.coli BL21 to induce the expression of recombinant PCT protein.Last,the recombinant PCT protein was purified by the nickel column affinity chromatography and identified by Western blot and the colloidal gold method,respectively.Results The results of agarose gel electrophoresis showed that the product of PCR amplification was about 350 bp.The homology comparison analysis revealed that the PCT gene fragment(348 bp) was successfully inserted into pTG19-T vector,and that no any base mutation was found.When the recombinant plasmid of PCT/pET-22b(+) was digested with BamH Ⅰ and HindⅢ,two pieces of about 350 bp and 5 500 bp were obtained.SDS-PAGE showed that the recombinant PCT protein with about 14 000 of Mr was existed in soluble form,and was easily obtained by the nickel column affinity chromatography.Moreover,western blot and the colloidal gold method demonstrated that the recombinant PCT protein was successfully expressed and contained histidine label(His-tag).Conclusion The recombinant vector PCT/pET-22b(+) is successfully constructed by the recombinant DNA technology,and the recombinant PCT fusion protein is successfully obtained by the nickel column affinity chromatography.

ABSTRACT

To evaluate the effect of Chinese medicine of invigorating spleen and kidney detoxification on simian immunodeficiency virus-infected rhesus macaque. Eight SIV rhesus macaques of the same age were randomly divided into Chinese medicine of invigorating spleen and kidney detoxification group(hereinafter referred to as Chinese medicine group) and anti-virus drug(HAART) group. The traditional Chinese medicine and antiviral therapy were given for 8 weeks, and peripheral blood was collected for detection in every 4 weeks. The results showed that Chinese medicine of invigorating spleen and kidney detoxification could not obviously decrease plasma viral load as HAART, but it can increase CD4 number in peripheral blood, especially the CD4 naive cells, and increase the number of CD4 and CD8 cells, enhance the immune response to pathogens. Therefore, it delayed the occurrence and development of spleen deficiency to a certain extent, indicating that the medicine had immune regulation effect, with considerable clinical value and application prospects.

ABSTRACT

Objective To understand the characteristics of distribution on HIV-1 subtypes and the transmission clusters in Yiwu in Zhejiang province.Methods A cross-sectional study of molecular epidemiology was carried out on newly reported H1V/AIDS cases in Yiwu.RNA was extracted from 168 plasma samples,followed by RT-PCR and nest-PCR for pol gene amplification,sequencing,phylogenetic tree construction used for analyzing the subtypes and transmission clusters.Mutations on drug resistance was analyzed by CPR 6.0 online tool.Results Subjects were mainly males (86.3%,145/168),with average age as (39.1 ± 13.4) years old and most of them were migrants (66.7%,112/168).The major routes of transmission included homosexual (51.2%,86/168) and heterosexual (48.8%,82/168) contacts.The rate of success for sequence acquisition was 89.9% (151/168).The dominant subtypes showed as CRF01_AE (74,49.0%) and CRF07_BC (64,42.4%),followed by CRF08_BC (5,3.3%),CRF55_01B (3,2.0%),each case of subtype B,CRF45_cpx,CRF59_01B,CRF85_BC and URF (B/C).CRF45_cpx and CRF85_BC were discovered the first time in Zhejiang province.Twenty-six transmission clusters involving 65 cases were found,with the total clustered rate as 43.0% (65/151),in which the CRF01_AE clustered rate appeared as 54.1% (40/74),higher than that of CRF07_BC (21/64,32.8%).The average size of cluster was 2.5 cases/cluster,with average size of cluster in CRF01_AE patients infected through heterosexual transmission as the largest (3.5 cases/cluster).The prevalence of transmitted drug resistance was 4.6% (7/151).Seven cases with surveillance drug resistant mutations (SDRM) were found,including 5 cases of M46L (3.3%),and one case of F77L or Y181C.Conclusion HIV genetic diversity and a variety of transmission clusters had been noticed in this study area (Yiwu).Programs on monitoring the subtypes and transmission clusters should be continued and strengthened.

ABSTRACT

Soy isoflavones exhibit various biological activities, such as antioxidant, anti-tumor, anti-inflammatory, and cardiovascular protective effects. The present study was designed to investigate the effects of sixteen synthesized 3-amino-2-hydroxypropoxy genistein derivatives on cell proliferation and activation of Nrf2 (Nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2)/ARE (antioxidant response elements) pathway in human cancer cell lines. Most of the tested compounds exerted greater cytotoxic activity than genistein, as measured by MTT assay. Moreover, compound 8c showed the highest ARE-luciferase reporter activity among the test compounds. It strongly promoted Nrf2 nuclear translocation and up-regulated the expression of total Nrf2 and downstream targets NQO-1 and HO-1 at protein level. The present study may provide a basis for the application of isoflavone derivatives as Nrf2/ARE pathway inducers for cancer therapy and cancer prevention.
